The Alexander Gouge is a bone gouge often used for bone grafting, contouring or sculpting, bone biopsy, or controlled removal of bone tissue during procedures that require reshaping bone. The Alexander Gouge is used in neurosurgery, spinal, orthopaedic, ENT and maxillofacial. The blade of the Alexander Gouge has a grooved, sometimes slightly curved or cylindrical profile. This design lets the surgeon scoop out bone, rather than just cut through it.
